Kayaks are made available to qualifying park patrons on a daily basis.
Program participants must demonstrate swim skills and purchase a
daily use pass. Specific program information is detailed in program
brochures available through the lifeguard station.

Patrons wishing to work out on their own can
purchase a Lap Pass/Frequent User from the cashier.
This card allows the bearer to rent a kayak 25
times for use at the facility. The card can also be
used for an adult admission at any L.A. City swim
facility. Patrons must have at least completed the
Kayak Fitness Orientation before using the lap pass.

Age:
All participants must be a minimum 12 years of age
for most of these programs. White water participants
must be at least 14 years of age. Students under 18 years old must be with an adult.
Health:
All participants must be able to stay afloat in water
at least 10 minutes and be in good health. Screening
will be done by instructor before class start. It is
recommended that participants consult with their
doctors before beginning any type of physical
training regiment.
In order to participate, students will need to provide
the following equipment:
• Swimsuit or Shorts
• Booties or other appropriate water shoes (No
bulky tennis shoes that will not fit into the boat
or bare feet)*
• Wet suit or paddling jacket (for keeping warm
in cooler weather)*
• Dry clothes (for the ride home)
• Water Bottle
• Sun Protection
• Lunch
* These may be rented from most sporting goods stores such as Sports Chalet for reasonable prices. These
are not provided with this class, but are strongly suggested to make you day more enjoyable. Ask about
conditions and what you will need for your class.
