The Department provides a wide variety of residential camping opportunities. The Griffith Park Boys Camp and Hollywoodland Girls Camp programs offer youth camping experiences, presented by professionally trained camp directors and staff.  Both of our camp facilities are ACA (American Camping Association) accredited and offer beautiful urban forest environments in the middle of Los Angeles.

Hollywoodland Girls Camp and Griffith Park Boys Camp provide sleep-over camping experiences for children ages 6-17.

**Griffith Park Boys Camp and Camp Hollywoodland have a limited amount of camperships available for this summer. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Los Angeles and meet the other qualifications.

In addition to youth summer resident camp, there are organized camping opportunities for the young and old.  The City is proud to offer WOW (Wonderful Outdoor World).  The WOW program introduces inner city youth to camping and outdoor recreation through a safe and controlled experience at local recreation centers. The Camping section provides Family Camping Weekends at nearby Camp Seeley.  10 weekends are set aside for families and small groups to experience the thrill of nature, with some of the comforts of home. Senior Citizen Outings & Overnights are also available at this beautiful camp.

The City of Los Angeles offers year-round group camping opportunities at its out-of-town camps.  The fees include rental of individual or dormitory style cabins, depending on the camp, and full use of kitchen and lodges.  Groups must provide their own food.  Weekend rentals are available from Labor Day through mid-June.  During the Summer months (Mid-June until Labor Day), rentals are on a week-long basis (usually Sunday through the following Saturday). Camps vary in size and maximum camper occupancy. In-town camps (Griffith Park Boys Camp and Hollywoodland Girls Camp) are available for weekend rentals: September-June. Fees for these camps do not include kitchen use.
