Public Information: Tarzana Recreation Center is located at 5655 Vanalden Ave. The main cross streets are Tampa and Hatteras. Our special features include: The Tarzan Park Child Care Center, Basketball Gym, Picnic Area, Playground, Outdoor Basketball Courts, and Baseball Fields. We have a picnic area (available on a first come first served basis). We do not allow moon bounces. Please contact our office for details and availability. Our staff, instructors, and volunteers offer a variety of programs and activities for the community. (Please see brochure for more specific information.)

Facility Features: Barbecue pits, baseball diamond (lighted), basketball courts (lighted/outdoor), childrens play area, indoor gym (without weights), picnic tables, volleyball courts (lighted).

Tarzana's Child Care Center: The Tarzana’s Children’s Center is located in our beautiful state-of-the-art facility which is both comfortable and inviting. The children are divided into two groups, an Early Learners group for ages 3-4 and a Pre-K Learners group for ages 4-5 years. The curriculum is designed with kindergarten readiness in mind. Children will participate in crafts, music, cooking, games and social interaction. Pre-K Learners will also learn their numbers, colors, name recognition and days of the week. The program meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Call (818) 343-5946 for more information.

Sports Information: We offer Pee Wee and Rookie Soccer, ages 3-8, in the Fall (registration in September), Youth Baseball, ages 3-13, in the Spring (registration in March) and Youth Basketball, ages 7-15, in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Day Camp Information: Tarzana Recreation Center offers Little Folks Camp for children ages 3-5 and Camp Tarzana for children ages 5-13. Camps are offered in the summer, winter, and spring based on the LAUSD school holiday breaks.

Class Registration Information: Our current class information is available online (see above). Please call (818) 343-5946 for more information. Most classes run 8-10 weeks, unless otherwise stated. Students must meet class age requirements by the date of enrollment. Staff reserves the right to require proof of age at any time. Payment can be made in full by credit card, check, money order or exact cash. Payments must be made in person at the time of Walk-In Registration. Checks are to be made payable to “City of LA. Rec. & Parks”.

Please consult with your physician before enrolling in any physically demanding class. Persons with disabilities are welcome to participate in our programs. Reasonable accommodations will be made with prior arrangements. Please notify the instructor prior to the start of class if you or your child has special needs.

Class Refund Policy:

A non-refundable 15% administration fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any refund request made before or on the first class
There will be NO refund requests made thereafter unless the class is changed or cancelled by the recreation center.
We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes if minimum enrollment is not met.
