The RSVP program promotes self-esteem among people 55 years of age and older by enabling them to use their skills and life-time experiences to be of service to others.

Discover new places, new friends, and the rewards of dedication to a task that improves the quality of life in your local community.

RSVP serves over 150 community agencies and non-profit organizations which are seeking Senior Volunteer assistance.  The opportunities are as varied as your imagination.  Here are a few:

Boys & Girls' Clubs Music, dance, art teachers & readers
Convalescent/Skilled Nursing Facilities Call Bingo, read aloud, assist with meal time
Elementary Schools Lunch time study-buddies and tutors
Hospitals & Medical Centers Receptionists to give visitor information
Libraries Librarian’s assistant, book-stackers, clerks
Middle and High Schools After school tutors in English, Math & Science
Museums Docents to lead tour groups
Nutrition Sites Servers, cashiers, clean & decorate tables
Police Departments Clerical volunteers for phones, typing and filing

Non-profit agencies each have their own goal, and seek Senior Volunteers to meet their goals.  They need knitters, crafters and artists, publicity and press release assistants, fund raisers, advisory council members, party preparers, conference materials assemblers, hosts, information/front desk volunteers, small office clerical workers, drivers and “hoppers” for hot meal delivery, annual fund raising event participants and much more.

In our RSVP Hollywood office, Senior Volunteers participate in the following programs:

Art and Crafts Program to create saleable items for our biannual fundraisers
Dial-A-Friend phone callers to enrolled clients who are home bound or feel isolated
Sunshine Visitors who go to retirement homes to present craft projects or variety shows
Mail room preparation of thousands of pieces of mail annually for non-profit agencies, assemblers
Data Base Maintenance
Newsletter - reporters, concept and story board, editors/re-writers
Taxi Coupon Distribution
