NG-12-062-RP PDF Council District: 9 Metro Griffith Region Project Address: 139 E. 61st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90003 Project Description: The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks proposes to convert of an existing residential lot into a small neighborhood “pocket park.” The new pocket park would consist of landscaping, including trees and shrubbery, decomposed granite, and irrigation systems. Park amenities would include five pieces of outdoor fitness equipment, benches, and a drinking fountain. Hardscapes would include concrete walkways. Security fencing would also be installed around the entire site along with security cameras. The proposed park is intended to serve surrounding neighborhoods within walking distance. The proposed pocket park would comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project site is located at 139 E. 61st Street in Southeast Los Angeles. Review Locations: An Initial Study/Negative Declaration has been prepared and will be circulated for public review from March 1, 2012 to March 21, 2012.
