CHATSWORTH PARK SOUTH REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN

Project Address: The Project site is in the northwestern corner of the San Fernando Valley, in the Chatsworth community of the City of Los Angeles. Locally, the site is the 72-acre Chatsworth Park South located at 22360 W. Devonshire Street, and is bounded to the north, west, and south by the Santa Susana Mountains and Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. The Project site is bounded to the east by a residential neighborhood.
Project Description: The proposed Draft Remedial Action Plan (RAP) specifies remedial action objectives, evaluates alternatives, and describes the alternative proposed for the Site. The objective of the RAP is to mitigate potential risk from the contaminants in soil that may pose a threat to human health and the environment. The RAP identifies the impacted soil remedial areas derived from the findings of the site characterization and supplemental site investigation along with the human health and ecological risk assessments due to the presence of residual lead and other potential chemicals of concern from a former Small Arms Range at the Site. The RAP also presents other logistics for regulatory compliance including air monitoring and dust control, a Health and Safety Plan and a Transportation Plan.
Review Locations:
The public review and comments period for proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration will be from March 21, 2013 to April 22, 2013. Copies of the document are available at the following locations:
