Project Name: DOCUMENT NO. NG-11-308-RP PDF Council District 9 Metro Griffith Region Project Address: 4916 S. McKinley Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90011 Project Description: The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks proposes to convert of an existing residential lot into a small neighborhood “pocket park.” The new pocket park would consist of landscaping, including trees and shrubbery, decomposed granite, and irrigation systems. Park amenities would include eight pieces of outdoor fitness equipment, benches, and a drinking fountain. Hardscapes would include concrete walkways and special artistic tile. Security fencing would also be installed around the entire site along with security cameras. The proposed park is intended to serve surrounding neighborhoods within walking distance. The proposed pocket park would comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project site is located at 4916 S. McKinley Avenue in Southeast Los Angeles. Review Locations: An Initial Study/Negative Declaration has been prepared and will be circulated for public review from November 3, 2011 to November 23, 2011.
