NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM EVENTS - RATES & POLICIES
The following are guidelines for special events at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Rates do not, however, reflect additional charges that might apply to overtime, special setup requirements, additional staff costs, lighting, labor fees, holiday rates, parking or equipment rentals. Note: All fees may be waived for special events co-sponsored by the Museum. Events must relate directly to the Museum's mission and fee waiver must be arranged in advance.
Security: Security provided with the above rates are: Up to 500 guests: 3 Plain-Clothed Officers; 750 guests will have 4 Plain-Clothed Officers; up to 1000 guests will have 5 Plain-Clothed Officers. Additional security can be provided at $250.00 per person for a 5 hour event.
Parking: The charge for parking is $5.00-10.00 per car, dependent upon the Coliseum rates, with a minimum charge of $500.00 for the evening.
Rentals: Tables, chairs and audio visual equipment is available for rental at an additional charge. Please see attached price list.
Changing Exhibits: The Natural History Museum and the Page Museum reserve the right to change exhibits. No guarantee can be made that exhibits displayed at the time of a walk through will remain.
Event Holds: A tentative hold put on any event date is not considered confirmed until a signed contract and non-refundable deposit are received. In the event that the Museum has a tentative hold and another party requests the same date, the party with the deposit and signed contract will be confirmed.
Multiple Events: The Museum reserves the right to make non competing areas of the Museum available for other events. Only events that have contracted for the entire Museum will have exclusive use of all areas.
Caterers: Each caterer is responsible for understanding and complying with all museum rules and regulations. In addition, each caterer is responsible for properly disposing of all trash generated from an event.
