LA PARKS FOUNDATION WEBSITE

General Information: Winnetka Recreation Center is located at the intersection of Roscoe and Winnetka Ave. Our special features include: Child Care Building, Baseball Diamonds, Playground, Gymnasium with indoor basketball court and stage. Moon bounce permits will be issued for specific areas. The recreation building (including restrooms) will be open during facility hours only, and will be locked at all other times. NO grills or other extra equipment not pre-approved by the recreation center. Our staff, instructors, and volunteers offer a variety of programs and activities for the community. Preschool Program, After School Program, ballet classes, karate classes, seasonal camp programs, sports classes/programs, and dance and fitness activities are all available.

Preschool Information: Sign up for our PreSchool Fun class with Teacher Rosa and Teacher Marissa! We have has been providing quality learning and nurturing for over 15 years at Winnetka! Your child will experience an enrichment based program that offers supervised play, social, cognitive and emotional interaction, organized activities, special events, and much, much more. Your child will participate in circle time, music, story time, games, play and table-top activities such as crafts, cooking and science.

Picnic Permits: There are designated picnic permits available. Moon bounce permits will be issued for specific areas. Sports Information: We offer youth sports leagues for children 4-15 years of age, providing your child meets the age requirements. (Please see brochure for more specific information.) Co-Ed and Girls Volleyball, Co-Ed Adult Volleyball, Adult Basketball, Co-Ed Adult Softball is offered in the Fall (registration in August). Co-Ed and Girls Basketball and Co-Ed Adult Softball is offered in the winter (registration in November). Co-Ed Baseball, Girls Softball, Co-Ed and Girls Volleyball, Adult Basketball, Adult Co-Ed Volleyball and Co-Ed Adult Softball is offered in the spring (registration in February). Co-Ed and Girls Basketball and Co-Ed Adult Softball is offered in the summer (registration beings in May).

Seasonal Camp Information: Winnetka Recreation Center offers seasonal camp programs for children ages 3-5 years (summer camp only) and for children entering grades K-9th. Camps are offered in the summer, winter, and spring based on the LAUSD school holiday breaks.

We are in partnership with the LA Parks Foundation that is able to offer wonderful sponsorship opportunities for businesses and great fundraising events to help enhance Winnetka Recreation Center. Class Registration Information: Our current class information is available online (see above). Please call (818)756-7876 for more information. Most classes run 7-10 weeks, unless otherwise stated. Students must meet class age requirements by the date of enrollment. Staff reserves the right to require proof of age at any time. Only Visa and MasterCard credit cards can be used to register online. Payment in full by credit card, check, and exact cash or money order must be made in person at the time of Walk-In Registration. Checks are to be made payable to “L.A. City Department of Recreation and Parks”. Class fees will NOT be prorated. See below for our refund policy. Please consult with your physician before enrolling in any physically demanding class. Persons with disabilities are welcome to participate in our programs. Reasonable accommodations will be made with prior arrangements. Please notify the instructor prior to the start of class if you or your child has special needs.

ACTIVITY REFUND POLICY:

  • A 15% fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any patron granted a refund, change, or transfer per class or sports league registration. After the first day of a session the recreation center issues a partial refund to patrons withdrawing from an activity.
  • No full refunds will be issued unless a class or sports league is cancelled by the center.
  • Credit or make-ups will not be given for classes missed by patrons
  • There will be no prorating for classes.

 

We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes if the minimum enrollment is not met.
