Spaceland is an alternative music production company that is responsible for some of the best music clubs in the Silver Lake and Downtown neighborhoods of Los Angeles, California. Spaceland venues include Echoplex, The Echo, Malo and El Prado to mention a few. Veteran performers of the 1960s and 1970s to current major acts such as The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Supergrass, Silver Sun Pickups, Great Northern and The White Stripes have all performed at one or the other of these venues. In 2005 Spaceland Productions and the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks partnered to produce free concerts on the Pershing Square Downtown Stage. The partnership presents the opportunity for new bands to perform live and established bands to give back to their fans with free concerts.

This combination of cabaret and community programming have sparked other members of the music community to offer their services to Pershing Square. This summer Spaceland Production and the Pershing Square Downtown Stage will host the best of alternative music and cutting edge DJ’s for free on Thursday nights during the summer concert series.
