Shuttle Service to Hollywood Viewing Area
NOTE: The Hollywood Sign Shuttle will not be operating from March 21 through April 12, 2015.
ACCESS TO A LOFTY VIEWING AREA OF THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN
The Hollywood Sign, one of L.A.’s most popular sites visited by locals and tourists alike, has become a worldwide symbol. However, many are quite surprised to discover that it’s actually illegal to get anywhere near the sign, which is set behind restricting gates and protected by security cameras and Park Rangers. As one can imagine, this has made capturing a flawless snapshot of the iconic sign quite difficult.
The Department of Recreation and Parks has collaborated with Griffith Observatory to launch promotional shuttle program to provide rides to the Hollywood Sign Viewing Area as well as the Griffith Observatory on Mount Hollywood Drive. The promotional launch will provide shuttles every Saturday and Sunday, and select Holidays. The fee will be $10.00 per person, excluding children 2 years of age and under who are free when riding on the lap of an adult.
Upon arrival to the Hollywood Sign Viewing Area, riders will be welcomed to a panoramic view of the Hollywood Sign, the Los Angeles city skyline, and amazing mountain views. They will also have access to some of the most premier hiking trails. Following their Hollywood Sign visit, riders will make their next stop at the Griffith Observatory.
It is a program we are excited and proud to announce, and feel it will benefit both the surrounding communities as well as locals and tourists who wish to visit these historic landmarks.
Thank you for visiting, and hope you enjoy the view!
