Due to the City's staffing resources, impacts to residential areas and public right of way the Department of Recreation and Parks allows one film permit activity per day. Filming and Photography are permitted Monday through Friday, no weekends and/or holidays.

The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks requires that any person engaged in the business or activity of filming, video taping or otherwise producing a film or still photography for television or public exhibition at any place within Venice Beach, must first obtain a permit from the Department’s Park Film Office.
