With more than two decades of experience in California’s constantly evolving business, political, policy and regulatory landscape, Fiona Hutton founded and has built one of the most successful and respected communications strategy and public affairs firms on the West Coast, Fiona Hutton & Associates (FHA) – an independent, non-partisan, certified woman-owned agency with offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento. In her role as Founder & CEO, Fiona oversees a trusted and seasoned team of experienced strategists and passionate issue advocates. From health equity to the digital divide, clean energy and climate resiliency, FHA works on California’s most important and pressing issues. The firm’s clients reflect a blue-chip roster ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and nonprofit organizations to government agencies and trade associations. Engagements focus on reputation management, public outreach programs, consumer awareness, corporate PR, issue and policy advocacy, legislative campaigns and litigation support. Fiona has developed deep expertise in the natural resources sector, specifically focusing on water, parks, open space, access & equity, habitat conservation and climate resilience. She led the campaign for Prop 68, the most recent parks bond, and has managed every natural resource bond that has appeared on the California statewide ballot, including Prop 12/13, 40, 50 and 84. She has represented the California State Parks Foundation, creating and launching its successful "Pathways To Parks" campaign, the Mountain Recreations & Conservation Authority, The Nature Conservancy, Resources Legacy Fund, California Department of Water Resources and many more. Fiona was also a recipient of the Southern California Water Coalition’s Harriet M. Wieder Leadership Award. A California native and San Diego State University graduate, Fiona lives in Studio City and maintains a residence in Ojai. She serves on the board of directors of California Chamber of Commerce, Open California/Capitol Weekly, Ojai Valley Land Conservancy and previously served on the boards of the Valley Industry & Commerce Association, Sacramento Press Club and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. Fiona dedicates a significant amount of time to mentoring women in leadership, she has served as a mentor for State Capitol-based She Shares and is often invited to speak on panels for women’s leadership conferences. Fiona is an avid hiker, outdoor enthusiast and amateur naturalist. With her husband, she raised two children In Los Angeles, actively tapping into city parks and recreation programming.
