Drum Barracks Civil War Museum School Tour
School tours for a maximum 60 students can be scheduled Monday - Friday. All grades are welcome. A school tour consists of a 45 minute to 1 hour tour through the 1862 Junior Officers' Quarters which houses the museum. Students will see an 1863 cannon, Civil War medical display, the history of the US Army Camel Corps, and models, maps and photographs from the time the 60 acre camp served as the Headquarters for the Union Army in Southern California. Also on display are a Victorian bedroom and Parlor, and uniforms, weapons and accessories used by Civil War soldiers. Reservations are required 4 weeks in advance and tours are subject to availability. Admission is free but donations are appreciated. Suggested donation $1 per student and $5 per chaperone. Drum Barracks Civil War Museum Living History School Program
Living History School Programs are offered to groups of 25 to 60 students and are geared towards 4th - 8th grade. The program consists of 4 workshops taught by living history interpreters dressed as Civil War soldiers and nurses. The program lasts for 2 hrs, from 10 am to 12 pm, and includes a museum tour along with three outside workshops on the museum grounds. A Living History School Program for your class can be scheduled on Mondays or Fridays year round, but reservations must be made 6 weeks in advance. Tours are subject to availability. Drum Barracks Civil War Museum Guided Tours
Guided Tours of Drum Barracks Civil War Museum are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. All visitors must take a guided tour. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per adult and $1 per child. 

Tours last from 60 to 90 minutes and include the grounds and interior of the 1862 Junior Officers' Quarters, the last remaining wooden building of the Union Army's Southern California headquarters. Learn about local history, Civil War technology, the life of a soldier, Civil War medicine, and see a Victorian parlor, bedroom, and recreated barracks room.
