General Information: Lake View Terrace Recreation Center is located on Foothill Boulevard and Clybourn Avenue. Our special features include Picnic Area, Playground, outdoor basketball courts (one full court and one half court), tennis courts (2 full courts), and a community room. There is one picnic area with 4 tables available for reservation Sunday-Saturday. The recreation building (including restrooms) will be open during facility hours only, and will be locked at all other times. Groups may not exceed 200 people. NO jumpers, grills or other extra equipment not pre-approved by the recreation center. Our staff, instructors, and volunteers offer a variety of programs and activities for the community. Parent and Me classes, art classes, day camp programs, sports classes/programs, dance and fitness activities are all available.
Picnic Permits: There is one picnic area with 4 table available on a first-come, first-serve basis during facility hours. Picnic Area permits are available Sunday-Saturday for a small fee. The recreation building (including restrooms) will be open during facility hours only, and will be locked at all other times. Groups may not exceed 200 people. Jumpers allowed Sunday-Saturday with an additional permit fee. NO grills or other extra equipment not pre-approved by the recreation center.
Sports Information: We offer youth sports leagues for children 3-adult years of age, providing you or your child meets the age requirements. (Please see brochure for more specific information.) We provide the following: Tiny Tot, Rookie and Pee Wee Soccer offered in the fall and spring; Basketball is offered in the winter (Registration in October) and summer (Registration in April); Girls Volleyball in the fall (Registration in July) and spring (Registration in February); T-ball and Coach Pitch in the spring (Registration in January).
Day Camp Information: Lake View Terrace Recreation Center offers day camp programs for children 5-12 (Kindergarten to 7th Grade) and counselor-in-training programs for teens 13-17 (8th Grade to 12th Grade). Camps are offered in the summer, winter, and spring based on the LAUSD school holiday breaks.
The Park Advisory Board: The Lake View Terrace Park Advisory Board meets every Last Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in our community room. Please contact John Knight, Facility Director at (818) 899-8087 if you are interested in becoming a member.
Lake View Terrace Improvement Assocation: The Lake View Terrace Improvement Association or LVTIA meets for a general meeting every first Monday of the month at 7:00pm and for a board meeting every second Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm in our community room. The LVTIA also holds a swap meet every first Saturday of the month in the parking lot. If you would like more information, please contact Eli Wells at (818) 979-5123.
Class Registration Information: Our current class information is available online (see above). Please call (818) 899-8087 for more information. Most classes run 6-8 weeks, unless otherwise stated. Students must meet class age requirements by the date of enrollment. Staff reserves the right to require proof of age at any time. All payments and registration must be made in person at the time of Walk-In registration. Payment must be made in full by check, cash, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard Only). Checks are to be made payable to “L.A. City Department of Recreation and Parks”. Class fees will NOT be prorated until after the fourth week of classes. See below for our refund policy.
Please consult with your physician before enrolling in any physically demanding class. Persons with disabilities are welcome to participate in our programs. Reasonable accommodations will be made with prior arrangements. Please notify the instructor prior to the start of class if you or your child has special needs.
Activity Refund Policy:
- A 15% fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any patron granted a refund, change, or transfer per class or sports league registration. After the first day of a session the recreation center issues a partial refund to patrons withdrawing from an activity.
- No full refunds will be issued unless a class or sports league is cancelled by the center.
- Credit or make-ups will not be given for classes missed by patrons.
- There will be no prorating before the fourth week of classes, thereafter 20% will be prorated from the original class fee.
- We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes if the minimum enrollment is not met.

Online Registration will be open until program is full or the second week of class session, after which only walk-in registration will be available.
Once you have registered online for a program or activity, please complete a youth/adult registration form for the class or sports league activity and submit it to our main office. You may submit your registration forms by:
