Welcome to the Martin Luther King Therapeutic Center, the new home of the PLAY LA section for Recreation & Parks. Through the PlayLA program, youth of all abilities will have access to high-quality sports activities offered at their local neighborhood recreation center, contributing to their engagement with the Olympic movement.

Our youth sports clinics cover a wide spectrum from Swimming to Baseball to Football, while adaptive youth sports clinics encompass activities like swimming, skateboarding, and more. PlayLA extends a warm invitation to all young individuals at an affordable rate of $10 per registration, aiming to eliminate economic barriers and foster a recreational environment that embraces inclusivity across all communities in Los Angeles.

The Martin Luther King Therapeutic Center proudly presents PLAY LA, PLAY LA ADAPTIVE SPORTS and GPLA (Girls Play LA) sports & fitness programs.

The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks proudly presents the PlayLA, Girls Play LA (GPLA), and Adaptive Youth Sports Program, a city-wide initiative designed to offer high-quality sports programming to youths aged 5 to 17, irrespective of their abilities. This comprehensive program, made possible by contributions from the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), stands as the largest commitment to youth sports development in California. It serves as a lasting legacy, spanning before, during, and after the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The PlayLA Adaptive Youth Sports Program is a pioneering initiative offering young individuals with disabilities access to diverse adaptive sports programming, free of charge, within safe and enjoyable environments at local recreation centers and neighborhood facilities. Girls Play LA (GPLA) emphasizes sports initiatives specifically designed for girls across underserved communities. Our objective is to actively engage and retain girls in sports activities while promoting a healthy lifestyle, fostering friendships, boosting self-esteem, and ensuring an enjoyable experience.
